Free writing

Hi.. It has been quite a while! I wish anyone reading this a happy and healthy year and hope all your New Year resolutions come to life!

I did not write for months, because I had nothing worth writing here. This year too seems to pass swiftly and I can't believe that already two weeks have passed. Surprisingly, this past week had many things happening, maybe surpassing everything that happened last year. I'm hoping to be nonchalant this year and live a chill life, I don't know how that'll work but I will try. Not giving a shit about things is the way to go, at least for me. I decided that because of obvious reasons. There is a saying that I always stand by, well it is my version of many things. GONE IS GONE!

That is to say, done is done, all is in the past, maybe even it is what it is. Why bother over the things that have already passed and there is nothing you can do to bring them back and fix them. It has already taken place but, what we can do is plan the next step. If you have messed up, take a new step and try not to make the same mistake, or take a different path. Well, I'm not saying just to ignore what happened and be oblivious like hurt a person or do something really bad and act like nothing happened. What I'm positing is not to spend your time on things that have already passed. Just take measures and move on. I think Moving on is the key. Like life does not stop till you overthink and repent on your choices and decisions. It flows continuously. so just move on with whatever you have in your hands.

Also, you might be thinking we already know. well, I'm sure you do. I'm just reminding myself. I'm not writing this assuming y'all know nothing, it is just that I write to remind myself. These are ordinary things. I assume y'all do not think me as Longinus thought of  Caecilius of Calacte. Longinus mentions in his work, "On the Sublime", that Caecilus does not supply practical knowledge to his audience and takes the audience for an immature crowd. Apparently, we do know better than Caecilus according to Longinus. Adding more about, "On the Sublime", which is a Roman literary theory, we are given many practical pieces of advice about how to compose a good piece of art, to reach arete, which is excellence in one's art. If you're interested you can prolly read on that.

Well, also I heard to write like no one will ever read which is inspiring. We are supposed to write without holding back, without filters. Write for yourself, they say. It is not my issue how the audience gonna perceive it. They can have countless take on one's writing. We just can write whatever we want, even though they might be cringy and nonsensical. Also, that reminds me of  J.B. Senanayake. In one of his prefaces, he says, 'do not be cruel enough to seek me in my writings'. People write about things they have experienced, heard, and imagined, or simply fiction. Even I'm asked who was that person in your poem? to whom you're running. The answer, I don't know. could be someone, or anyone. Why? because They might not even exist, or maybe they do. Guess you'll never know.

So in conclusion, I'm determined to write like nobody will ever read them.

Also, keeping in mind  that "Best stories aren't crafted by guidelines, they are crafted by Gumption"
